After my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer I made it a personal mission of mine to do whatever I could to help rid the world of this disease. Unfortunately, my girlfriend was going through the same with her mom. After a battle that would make the Spartan warriors proud, Robyn's mom passed away. Now we really have no choice but to do every single possible thing to get rid of this crap.
During our quest towards a world without breast cancer, Robyn and I met an amazing individual named Joe (a former 60 mile man). Saying that he inspired me to make a run at the calendar would be an understatement. As our relationship with Joe expanded, it became obvious that people from the 3-Day and the 60 Mile Men stick together like family. While at Robyn's mom's funeral I heard a familiar voice. Sure enough it was Joe, there to help us with whatever we needed as usual. This was when it really hit me as to how close everyone involved in this cause becomes. Things like this are a huge reason that I feel being a 60 Mile Man is a true honor and privilege. If I can help anyone involved with this disease, it is an honor to me. Even if that help is by letting them laugh at the scrawny, broken nosed, cauliflower eared kid.
I hope you will all check out the calendar. Remember we did this to help raise money, not show off our modeling skills!
